World number one Rafael Nadal has confirmed on his official website that he must rest for 10 days following the injury he sustained in the Australian Open.
Nadal was clearly hampered by a thigh injury during his quarterfinal defeat by compatriot David Ferrer in Melbourne last week.
And now the 24-year-old has revealed that he is suffering from an "adductor longus rupture of the right leg".
Nadal added that he was undergoing physiotherapy and anti-inflammatory treatments, as well as specific stretches with doctors.
The Spaniard entered the Australian Open aiming to claim a "Rafa Slam", with the Wimbledon, French and U.S. Open titles already in his possession.

However, his last eight defeat to Ferrer meant that Rod Laver in 1969 remains the last man to hold all four grand slam titles at the same time.
